It's been a while since I read this book, but I remember the wonderful feeling I had after reading it. I wanted to pick up and just start walking four five months earlier than planned.
It details some of the history of the camino, but really delves into personal experiences and interviews with a large number of pilgrims. The author worked as a hospitalero for some time so she got to meet a lot of pilgrims.
Very interesting if you're looking for other people's reactions.
